Exam / Consultation

The exam is probably the most common treatment at the dentist; before we can do anything, we must have a diagnosis.

The exam is probably the most common treatment at the dentist; before we can do anything, we must have a diagnosis. An exam can be of your full mouth or of a very particular area. To do a full exam, multiple radiographs are needed. In our office, we have all the necessary equipment for regular intra-oral bitewings, periapicals, as well as for the panoramic radiographs required for wisdom teeth & implant placement. We also have a machine to take cephalometric for orthodontic treatments. Once an initial exam is completed, you will know what treatments need to be done to bring your mouth to good health. Afterwards, a recall exam is recommended approximately every 6 months to ensure there are no problems that have arisen.

A cleaning, most often performed by a hygienist, removes the plaque, tartar & stain from your teeth and roots. Besides the obvious benefits of having clean teeth and fresher breath, studies have shown that an unhealthy mouth can have a negative impact on your health. In many cases, a cleaning is recommended every 6 months; however, some people with periodontal (gum) disease many need to come more frequently and many need to be seen by a periodontist for more in depth treatment. Sometimes we have great teeth but we’re just not happy with our smile. It can be due to several factors, some of them very easy to fix, others more complicated. A consultation can show you what is needed to give you the smile you’ve always dreamed of!

We also offer at home bleaching as well as in office (Zoom) because, who doesn’t want a white smile? With our experienced professionals, we will discuss with you the potential you have. Not everyone bleaches the same and certain teeth have to have special precautions taken (sensitive teeth, eroded or abraded teeth, porcelain crowns).

Misaligned (crooked) teeth are not just an aesthetic concern. Straighter teeth will not only improve your appearance but can also improve the functionality of your bite, the health of your gingiva (gums) and decrease the risk of tooth decay, giving you a nicer and healthier smile. Our clinic offers complete orthodontic treatment using traditional braces (metal or porcelain), removable appliances or evolutionary shells (commercially known as Invisalign).

Dental implants are artificial replacements (often Titanium-based) for tooth roots through an intimate bonding to the bone. Implants provide a strong foundation for replacement for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement crowns that are made to match your natural teeth. Our cutting edge technology in implant-placement will ensure you the best possible care and have you smiling again with confidence!

When you’re in pain, have a broken filling, a swelling, it is nice to know that you can see us quickly for relief. We do our best to fit in our patients (or new patients) so we can take care of the problem or do something temporarily until we have the time to do something permanent. It is always preferable to call for an appointment.

A root canal treatment is designed to eliminate bacteria from the infected root canal, prevent reinfection of the tooth and save the natural tooth. There’s no need to be worried if you are prescribed a root canal procedure to treat a damaged or diseased tooth. We treat and save hundreds of teeth a year, permitting you to relieve your pain and make your teeth feel healthy again!

Both crowns and most bridges are fixed devices that you can cement permanently onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by dentists. After an attentive consultation with us, we may recommend crown placement to replace a large filling that leaves not enough tooth remaining, to protect a weak tooth from fracturing, to cover a dental implant, and more. On the other hand, we may suggest a bridge placement to replace a missing tooth and prevent gaps left by missing teeth from eventually causing shifting and a resulting bad bite. We have your best interest at heart, and our crown & bridge treatment planning will assure you the best possible aesthetics and function.

Using the latest technology, the laser can be used to help heal ulcers and in such treatments as minor gum surgery and root canal therapy, allowing for faster healing with less pain.
